One of the current biggest murmurs in the Supreme Court is about the Adultery Law under Section 497 of the IPC. As per the law, whoever has sexual intercourse with the wife of another man, without the consent or connivance of that man, is guilty of the offence of adultery.
Earlier, on August 2, 2018, the Supreme Court began hearing the pleas challenging this law. Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra heads the bench along with Justices RF Nariman, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra.
