Opinion: Unlike Trump, Indian Politicians Cannot Be Questioned Because Media Ki Koi Aukat Nahi

Will I be slammed with defamation too if I write against Indian politicians?

Not long ago, news site Vox featured an article explaining, "Trump has always treated his presidency as a reality show, and every good reality show needs a villain. From day one, Trump wanted his villain to be the media."

American President Donald Trump leaves no stone unturned if and when he wants to attack the journalists who question his acts. But that has not stopped the reporters from raising more questions.

Recently, when a CNN journalist questioned him about the Trump-Russian investigation, Trump remarked, "What a stupid question."

Before that, another CNN reporter had made a claim that the caravan of immigrants who have found their way into Mexico were no different from the ones who enter the United States. President Trump declined to address the question, but the reporter didn't back off, which ended in Trump getting the reporter's press pass suspended.

What happens in the United States is that media has the right and courage to go and question their political leaders and their decisions and power.

Should I be worried that nothing like this happens in India?
