The biggest news of the hour is the power tussle between CBI officials. But the bigger buzz is how Modi's alleged involvement in the case has given the Congress just another spade to ruin the ruling party's grounds.
It all began when suddenly on October 24, 2018, the Centre via the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) ruled out expel orders for CBI Director Alok Verma. Along with him, Special Director Rakesh Asthana was sent on temporary leave, who is a Gujarat-cadre IPS officer, close to both PM Modi and BJP President Amit Shah.
Over the forced leave of Alok Verma, Rahul Gandhi along with thousand others protested at CBI headquarters, leading to the latter's arrest.
